I am a fan of Tim Waggoner and in particular his Nekropolis books that star Zombie PI Matt Richter; a series of great action adventure books that took place in a brilliantly realised world. Night Terrors does not stray too far from this template as the world of Hell is similar to that of dreams. Night Terrors, the first installment in Tim Waggoner's The Shadow Watch series, takes place in a world where a special branch of law enforcement, the afore-mentioned Shadow Watch, is employed to keep nightmares that have "gone rogue" from escaping Nod (as in, "the Land of") and wreaking havoc on our waking world. So far, so good. Tim Waggoner's new novel Night Terrors introduces Audra and Jinx, together maybe the oddest buddy cop duo I've ever seen. For one, they're both agents of the Shadow Watch, a, well, shadowy supernatural organization tasked with patrolling the border between our world and the Nod, the realm of dreams and (most notably) nightmares.

Like the original Night Terrors is written by several authors, Lucas Mangum, Jonathan Maberry, Jeremy Robinson, John Everson, Larry Correia, and Tim Waggoner. Each author is responsible for writing one or more of the fifteen different stories that make up the whole.
